1. NBBS and later versions were not inspired by Rob O'Donnell's OBBS, it predated it. 2. NBBS v1 was written in BBC Micro BASIC in by Jonathan Freeman 3. NBBS v2 was written in BBC Micro BASIC by Jason Tanner and approved by Jonathan Freeman who by then had pretty much lost interest in maintaining it. Jonathan received a share of the royalties still at this point but Jason (me) handled maintenance, sales and support. 4. NBBS+ and later versions were all all rewritten in 6502 Assembler for the BBC Micro ( and later Master ) by Jason Tanner and burnt onto EEPROMS and sole around the UK & mainland Europe It was after the release of NBBS+ an attempt to steal and rebadge it as SBBS was made by someone who shall remain nameless. That someone was not aware of the copy protection and identification code built into it and so the theft was readily identified. Several solicitors letters resolved that situation. Some time after the release of NBBS+ I became friends with Rob O'Donnell who had written his own software that also ran on BBC Micros and made use of the networking features of them. Something NBBS did not and never did. I travelled up from essex to visit Rob at his mothers place ( near manchester maybe stockport ) a few times to spend weekends with him and to discuss programming in general. My involvement with NBBS began when i was 15 and continued to my early 20s. Regards Jason Tanner
