Niagara Software, a new Apple II software developer, announces, the first release of the Vantage Bulletin Board System. Vantage BBS is a strong, but user friendly, BBS system that will run on any Apple IIc, IIe, or IIgs. It takes full advantage of ModemWorks, a proven Apple II modem interface. Because of all the editors built into Vantage BBS, enough features to meet even the most demanding and structured needs of a Sysop, modifying is not necessary. Vantage BBS is perfect for classroom BBS systems, private clubs, hacker type public systems, or large data systems. The system is limited only by disk space. 99,000 files and 99,000 messages may be online at one time. | Vantage has extensive E-Mail, messaging, and library systems which allow users shortcuts to almost any task. Each user can create mailing lists online for carbon copied E-mail, define which message conferences to scan when global scanning, and search through all the libraries for a file. Two years in the making, Vantage BBS started as a new version of MCM BBS. Niagara Software purchased the rights to MCM from SofTools, Inc. and renamed it Vantage BBS. A few other features of Vantage include: extensive messaging commands, online games, user utilities, library commands, voting booths, a quoter, automatic mail check, Sysop feedback accounts, and has an editor to set most of the above to the Sysop's liking. Vantage BBS retails for $79.95, includes three disks (startup/install, system and editors) and a complete manual for both tutorial-like setup and reference. Niagara Software wishes to help the Apple II market prosper and continues to show their support with Vantage v2.0 expecting to be released within 12 months. Software support is always free and upgrades to the next version are only $14.95. MCM owners wishing to purchase Vantage may be eligible for a discount and should call for information.
