Whither Telefinder? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the DigiNews Archives -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- by Rob Galbraith Friday, January 21, 2000 A number of you have written to inquire about the status of Spider Island's Telefinder Server, the software package used by many newspaper photo departments to receive images from the field. I'm happy to report that sales and license upgrades of the US$675 package continue, though actually making the purchase is a bit of a chore at the moment. That's because the man behind Spider Island Software, Rusty Tucker, has taken a job as a software engineer at Apple. As a result, he is in the process of divesting himself of any sales responsibility; that task is being handed off to Bob Nunn at Headgap Systems in Memphis, though Nunn and Tucker have yet to finalize the details. If you have sales or upgrade questions, I recommend you forward them to Bob Nunn at headgap@headgap.com. The Spider Island website is not likely to reappear (it's been offline for several months), but information on Telefinder and client software downloads are available on the Headgap Systems website's Telefinder page.
