QBOX is a Bulletin Board System for owners of a Sinclair QL. QBOX
has two main sections: a Message section and a File section.
In the Message section, messages can be entered. A message may be
private (i.e. only readable by the person to which it is sent) or
"general interest" (readable by all users).
In the File section, files can be down- and uploaded using the
XMODEM protocol (standard on each reasonable terminal program).
Both the Message- and File-section are divided into "areas". An
area covers some distinct subject, e.g. "Text files" or
"Communication software". For English language-users, there is an
"International QL message area". Enter the message section by
typing "M" in the main menu, then switch to area 10 with A
followed by 10.

Registration on QBOX is completely free of charge. The only thing
you have to do is to fill in the questionnaire on the first login.
When you have done this, we will upgrade your privilege to make
download possible.

QBOX runs on a Sinclair QL with three floppydisk drives. It uses
the QBOX BBS program written by Jan Bredenbeek, the sysop of this
BBS. For more information on this program, please leave a message
for the sysop in message area 3.
QBOX is online since June 1987, and 24 hours per day open.

Qbox körs alltså på en QL med 512Kb inbyggt minne och 3 st 3,5 tums
disk-drivar på tillsammans 2,16Mb. Programmet är skrivet så att det
även klarar echomail. Sysop har även en lokal nod så att han kan
vara inloggad samtidigt som en användare. Basen är FIDO/OPUS-
liknande med filareor och olika areor för brev och texter. Bl.a.
finns ett Internationellt QL-möte.

Det finns en del intressanta filareor, tex. med ARCiveringsprogram
för QL-filer (komprimerar filer), och en massa annat.
I basen finns ett engelskspråkigt möte som jag ska försöka ta hem till
Sverige. Skulle ni vara intresserad av det? Frågan är hur man ska lösa
det eftersom alla texter kommer att vara på engelska. Det skulle
faktiskt vara läge att starta ett speciellt QL-möte för enbart
engelska texter, från England (som Hans Pedersen Dambo tar hit), och
från Holland. Vad tycker ni på EDKX?
